Call Before You Report

Don't forget to call before you leave home:
Your notice to report will include a telephone number that you should call for a recording that will provide up-to-the-minute instructions. Calling times are explained below. Frequently, a case may be dismissed or settled after you have been notified to report. If that occurs, the telephone recording will instruct you to not report. Occasionally, jurors will drive long distances to report for jury duty without calling the number before they leave their homes, only to arrive at the courthouse to learn that the case has settled and the trial cancelled.

IMPORTANT!! :  You will need to have your participant number available when you call. If you don't have your participant number you must call or EMAIL the Jury office to get your participant number as soon as possible. Your participant number can be found on your original summons you received with your qualification questionnaire.

If the case has settled but you report anyway, your failure to call before leaving home results in a loss of personal time and travel expense that the court cannot reimburse.

If you have received a Notice to Appear for jury duty you must call 801-524-6940 anytime after 2:00 p.m. on the last business day before you are to report for last-minute instructions. The recorded message will be available after 2:00 p.m., including evening hours, and on weekends.

Once your reporting date has passed, discard your notice for that day. Each group of jurors has a different message, and you will get the wrong message if you call from an outdated notice. When you call, it should be based on the information in your current notice.
