REQUESTING A TRANSCRIPT

The court has adopted a schedule of transcript fees for its reporters and transcribers, subject to maximum rates established by the Judicial Conference. The Conference recently approved a rate increase to the per page original and copy transcript fees. As of October 1, 2023, (court fiscal year 2024), transcript fees range from $4.00 - $8.00 per page for original transcripts. Costs for additional copies range from $1.00 - $1.35 per page. These fees will increase again for court fiscal year 2025. Beginning October 1, 2024, (court fiscal year 2025), transcript fees will range from $4.40 - $8.70 per page for original transcripts. Costs for additional copies will range from $1.10 - $1.45 per page.

• To request a transcript for a matter where a court reporter was present, contact the court reporter whose name can be found in the minute entry on the court's docket for the particular proceeding. Have the following information available when requesting a transcript:
  • case number
  • judge's name
  • date of hearing

• If court proceedings were recorded as the official record by electronic sound equipment, then the public (which includes the parties) may choose to purchase copies of the recording, at the rate in the court’s fee schedule, in lieu of purchasing a transcript for their own use. With few exceptions, there is no entitlement to backup recordings made for the convenience of the court. To order an electronic recording, when available, countact the judge's courtroom deputy.
